Diggory

It never ceases to amaze me how things just seem to fall into place where they need to be, sometimes literally.

Diggory, pictured here sleeping, is a Fox Squirrel currently in the care of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. He was found by two LDS missionaries on September 24th having fallen 50 feet out of a tree right in front of them.

Ann Marie was called and she picked him up in order to take him home to care for him and find a rehabilitator locally. Ann Marie Schrage-Glaviano is the President of PetsNPatients, a Chicago-based non-profit, and my “boss” as I am PNP’s Creative Director and Volunteer Coordinator. Ann Marie emailed me and asked me what we should name him and Diggory found his name.

banner_dollarsdigOur Diggory needs help so consider this the start of Dollars for Diggory, a fundraiser to help Flint Creek with their rehabilitation of our precious little mascot. As the Three Dollar Squirrel, we are asking you to donate three dollars to Flint Creek, just three dollars (less than a coffee at Starbucks!) or more if you can, and add “Dollars for Diggory” in the comment field. All donations go directly through Flint Creek.

For updates on Diggory you can subscribe to our blog or our Twitter.

Diggory has found a few friends to help Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation with her care and we would like to say thank you!

Three Dollar Squirrel is a monthly zine (handmade magazine) with content by writers on the act, art, and process of writing. Diggory poses one question per month and offers participants the chance to tell the story of their own process.
